Christmas Pictures

Parents,
As you know, we attempted a field trip to the Oregon Caves this last Thursday, and we were met with SNOW!!! Although we did not ever make it to the caves because the roads were blocked, the students thoroughly enjoyed the snow. Here are some pictures of our trip and some of the activities we did in class.

This week's topics

Parents,
As you know, one of Winchester Elementary's missions is to keep parents highly involved in their child's education.
One of the ways we accomplish this in Room 3 is by sending out a list of the week's topics for you to ask your child about during the weekend. This week your child will be learning about:

the water cycle(science)
adding double digit numbers(math)
how to tell time(math)
Sally and Rigger(reading)
ropa(Spanish)
big ball soccer(physical education)

Asking your child, "what did you do today?" sets you up to recieve the answer, "nothing." I ensure that your child did not do nothing! By asking a more specific question, it enables to child to organize their memories of the week and what they recall intellectually.

Halloween Party

Parents and students:
This is a reminder that our classroom Halloween party will be from
1 pm to 3 pm on Tuesday, October 31st.
Please have your child dressed in an costume appropriate for a school enviornment.
We are also in need of cupcakes and some healthier snacks, such as celery and carrots, or some kinds of fruit. I do know that "ants on a log"(celery with peanut butter and raisins) are one of the kids' favorite!
Thanks so much! If you would like to help us out with this event, please email me or leave me a voicemail.
